Hi all
I've had a wonderful career in the public health system in Australia over the past 33 years.

I commenced my career in SA with nursing (1983) and then Midwifery (1991)
Moving to Darwin in 2000 for a sea change, and has been wonderful personally and professionally.

This past 8 years I have been an IBCLC, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, and have focused on this aspect of midwifery solely for the past 6 years, with over 12 months in private practice.

I am married and have been for 30 years now. I have 3 wonderful boys, the first my husband Grant (who still hasn't grown up fully), together we have 2 wonderful adults Jack (22) & Liam (18)

I did breastfeed my 2 boys, not without it's challenges, with nipple trauma in the first 2 weeks and mastitis twice.
It's not always smooth sailing in the beginning but usually with persistance these obstacles are overcome by 4-6 weeks

I did have a wonderful breastfeeding experience till around 15 months with both kids
